BLS: the best masks made in Italy

The BLS brand is internationally renowned for the production of high-quality face masks.

The company in question began its journey in Milan in 1970, dedicating itself to the production of disposable cup-shaped masks.

In 1996 it improved the quality by adding a new carbon layer, and in 2003 it took over a famous Italian manufacturer of full and half face masks, expanding its horizons even further.

After this achievement, BLS obtained ISO 9001 certification with CE marking and then invested in developing fully automated production lines.

In 2010 it acquired a facility in Spain dedicated to producing filters. It even launched a new office in Curitiba two years later to put down roots in South America.

It was in 2017 that it reached Northern Europe with subsidiaries in Benelux, the UK and Ireland.

BLS disposable masks

As already mentioned, BLS is a very famous brand, especially when it comes to disposable masks. This is where its success stems from, which is why, over the years, it has decided to devote more attention to disposable masks, producing three different lines:

  • BLS Zero + BLS Classic → cup-shaped face masks
  • BLS Flickit → foldable face masks

Let's look at them in detail…

BLS ZERO

BLS FLICKIT

BLS CLASSIC

  • Elastic that fits more easily
  • Excellent field of vision
  • Ultralight membrane
  • Soft, technical foam seal
  • Activated charcoal available to prevent unpleasant odours
  • Available in individual packaging for maximum hygiene
  • Greater coverage of the face
  • Nose clip without exposure to metal parts
  • Possibility of folding the mask
  • Possibility of adding activated charcoal to counteract odours from gases and vapours
  • Individual packaging for all models in the range
  • Cup shape for excellent fit
  • Compatible with prescription glasses or protective eyewear (PPE)
  • Adjustable elastics made from textile fibres
  • Possibility of adding additional active carbon filters
  • Masks sold in individual packs

However, reusable masks also feature an immense variety of technologies. What strikes users most when it comes to half-face masks is the ease of cleaning and maintenance, together with the quick attachment and release.

Whole face masks are particularly appreciated for their bayonet connection, which allows the user to see whether the filter has been positioned correctly or not. In addition, the anti-condensation system prevents the mask from fogging through the control of cold and hot air and not through the common surface treatments that deteriorate in a short time.
